The Barry Cullen Chevrolet story starts in the late 1950s. Barry Cullen worked part-time for a Toronto car dealer while he was playing in the NHL for the Toronto Male Leafs. After a career in the NHL alongside his brothers Brian Cullen and Raymond Cullen, Barry retired from the leauge in 1960 and worked full-time in the automobile business.
In 1969 Barry purchased the Chevrolet Cadillac dealership in Guelph and renamed int Barry Cullen Chevrolet Oldsmobile Cadillac. The original location was on Wellington St, but in 1979 the dealership moved to its current location at 905 Woodlawn Road West, Guelph.
Barry Cullen is the past president of the Ontario Automobile Dealers Association, a retired member of the Guelph Rotory Club and a proud supporter of:

- Guelph Minor Soccer
- Guelph Minor Baseball
Barry currently operates the dealership with two of his sons and one daughter
